    We strongly advise scheduling a quick visit to your local healthcare provider or an official travel clinic 4 to 6 weeks prior to departure. If you are booking a spontaneous, last-minute safari with us, you can even visit a dedicated airport travel clinic on your day of departure. Always remember to pack your physical vaccination booklets alongside your passport.

    Traveling with Prescription Medication

    If you take regular prescription medication, pack it safely in your carry-on luggage inside its original packaging. Ensure you bring an official doctor’s health card or a signed prescription slip. This ensures smooth border clearance and prevents your medication from being mistaken for illegal substances.

    Malaria Prevention

    Malaria is present in Zambia, meaning preventative steps are essential for your safari.

    • Prophylaxis: Visit your doctor to get the right antimalarial prescription (such as Malarone or Doxycycline) suited for you.

      • Hepatitis A & Typhoid: Strongly recommended to protect against waterborne or foodborne bacteria.

Take it easy for a day, stick to bottled water, and pack Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) to stay fully hydrated especially vital for younger or older family members.         Bilharzia Warning

        The rivers and lagoons of South Luangwa are home to wildlife, crocodiles, and microscopic parasites like Bilharzia. Never swim in still or standing natural water bodies. Stick strictly to your lodge’s private swimming pools.

        Sun Protection & Bush Hygiene

        The African sun can be incredibly intense. Prevent sunstroke and heat exhaustion by wearing a wide-brimmed hat, polarized sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen, and always carrying a fresh water bottle on game drives. Treat small skin scratches immediately with disinfectant, and avoid scratching bug bites to prevent secondary infections.
